Speaking of nostalgia…Manila, Manila–there ain’t no place like Manila! From Bonifacio’s High Street, we drove down memory lane the other day (or as most people call it, Roxas Boulevard). Historic, chaotic and iconic, nothing says classic Filipino like the city of Manila. Everything about it is symbolic almost to the point of cliché, from the monument of Rizal, to the kalesas that ply the streets, to the sunset, to the potted palms and brass & capiz chandeliers of Manila Hotel. If there’s one working city that can be turned–almost in its entirety–into a heritage site, it’s Manila!
