Doodling, sketching, drawing…give me a pencil and some ink and I’ll happily draw on anything, receipts, napkins, parking tickets. Drawing is something I’ve enjoyed since I was a child because it helps me better visualize the random ideas that are floating around in my head. It also helps me relax and clear my mind because once I put a design on paper–whether I’m ready to execute it or not–I can dump it from my memory banks! (In college, I was fortunate enough to have had one of the best artists/illustrators, Robert Alejandro, as a most inspiring teacher and I remain a huge, huge fan of his work to this day.)
When designing I always begin with a sketch, but funnily enough I sometimes end with a sketch too, because some of my clients/good friends give me a free hand to draw on their clothes as well 🙂

I used to draw a lot when I was younger. More architectural and design stuff (like Disneyland with perspectives, hehe) Got sidetracked when i got older, probably its time to give it another try.
You should, it’s really quite relaxing. I tried sketching on a Tab, but I still love the old-school way with paper, ink & pencils 🙂
Korek, theres nothing wrong with old school pen, paper or inks 🙂
