Let’s Go Places!

Whether you’re in a creative field or not, sometimes we all just need to let go & let our imaginations fly. Saw a brilliant video the other day of the ‘Burning Man’ annual art event in Nevada performing Dr. Seuss’ “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”. I love it! Having Fun with Fashion

Forget ‘Fab’…forget ‘Fierce’…this year, it’s time to let our hair down and have ‘Fun’ once more with fashion. Colors, prints, wildly imaginative accessories are all the rage for spring/summer 2012 and the result is an exuberance we haven’t seen in years. Here are some interesting ways to play with fashion in the coming months: 1. Wear a dress. Even if jeans & a tee are your usual uniform, why not try something even easier and slip on a dress? Have a simple shift in cotton, linen or jersey made in a rainbow of colors and wear a different colored dress everyday. Try simple shifts in various colors Victoria Beckham in her own design 2. Try on some prints. Gingham checks, stripes, polka dots…or if you’re daring, wear bolder prints like scarf prints, aquatic prints, bird prints or graphic floral prints. Accessories this season come with a fair amount of wit, humor and a dash of cheekiness. Hats, bracelets, clutches, shoes…all are statement pieces that remind you not to take fashion too seriously. Design-It-Yourself (Just For Fun)

Over the weekend, tons of people on-line had fun taking the DOT’s newly-launched “It’s More Fun In The Philippines” slogan and making it their own. That’s the brilliance of this campaign in my opinion, it isn’t just a parade of passively beautiful images with a trying-hard-to-be-catchy slogan, but an open invitation to contribute our own thoughts & experiences as to what makes it more fun in the Philippines…and who could resist joining in the fun? 🙂 These are just some of the D-I-Y DOT ‘ads’ that have been circulating on-line…(in case you want to create your own DOT ‘masterpiece’, the DOT font is “Harabara” that you can download here http://www.dafont.com/harabara.font) or go to http://morefunmaker.com. Manila Bulletin Celebrations

To celebrate my turning a year older last October, Manila Bulletin threw a belated celebration over the holidays at the al fresco dining area of Conways in Shangri-La, Makati. It was fun catching up with some of my good friends & travel buddies and we had a great night sharing our most recent trips & (mis)adventures with each other.
