The romantics (Lacroix) and dark romantics (McQueen, Theyskens, Galliano) were always my favorite designers and Alexander McQueen was one of those who inspired me the most. His vision transcended the everyday business of fashion and embraced both the light & dark sides of the human soul while championing the power of imagination. His designs were often other-worldly & were not always wearable, but they always transported one to a a different time and place. His exhibit at the Met is one exhibit I truly wish I could have seen in its full, multi-sensory glory!
