A-Muse Bouche

One of my most favorite things about fashion is its innate ability to completely transform people and to allow them to explore, as well as discover, different parts of themselves. Today we had a photo shoot with a young girl who by the end of the day had bloomed before our eyes into a confident young woman–what a pleasant surprise! Even her father was teasing her that he didn’t recognize her 🙂 The best thing about working with lots of different people is remembering the excitement and enthusiasm of when things were new, and in the process even this...

Inspirational Photo of the Day

Modernist art? Or home improvement work?? The past few weekends, Ito and I have been stuck at home, because if it wasn’t storming outside, it was renovation projects inside that kept us from leaving. Anyway, the thing about this project was that while it was underway, Ito and I agreed that it looked like an interesting piece of industrial art with the hammered wooden pegs, textured cement and exposed piping. We thought it looked so cool–or maybe it was just our cabin-fever talking, LOL! Friday Finale!

While fashion week rages on in Europe (and online), it’s the end of the week in Manila. Behind the high gloss, glitz and glamour that fashion projects are people simply working together to create things that they love that they hope others will love too. Returning to what I enjoy most about fashion, which is exploring it as a free form of expression rather than as a form...

Different Point of View

One day, I looked out a window and what did I see? A little dress inspired by a Vigan window! Sometimes it’s fun to let our flights of fancy take shape, like this fun, irreverent take on ‘Filipiniana’ 🙂 Jusi silk, taffeta & copper wire dress/Tippi Ocampo, Model/Farah Ramos, Hair & make-up/Maws Diaz, Photos/Ito Ocampo Bookmark on Delicious Digg this post Recommend on Facebook share via Reddit Share with Stumblers Tweet about it Subscribe to the comments on this...

Fashion with Local Flavor

Fashion has never been as global and culturally-diverse as it is today. Which is why it seemed like a good time to work with something that was inherently local, and to find the beauty in things around us which are, very often, overlooked. Ever since the “Green Couture” show using recycled materials that friend Candy Dizon organized over a year ago, the idea of playing with fashion that drew inspiration from materials that are usually under appreciated and discarded kept playing in my head. For fun, we recently experimented on a fashion shoot with dusky beauty, Farah, showing a...
