Often overlooked and under-appreciated, it’s the little details in fashion that have always fascinated me. Interesting buttons, unexpected trim, decorative stitching, and unusual closures like this corded, double hook and eye are what often draw my eye. Whether on an elaborate gown or a simple shirt, it’s those elements that are often hidden away that often speak volumes. Rather than the obvious flourishes, I find that these small, subtle features are what help give a design some edge and a more distinctive personality.
I couldn’t agree with you more. 🙂
The details make the difference!
YES! It sounds like a conversation we had not too long ago. I used to be drawn to overtly big and loud details clothes-wise, but now I’ve become more attracted to subtlety. A well-considered, well-placed little embellishment seems more thought-provoking and interesting to me these days. It’s like an in-joke or a secret waiting to be found. Maybe I’m mellowing with age? Ha ha!
Not mellowing, but I think that a lot of fashion exposure and experience has definitely made you way more discerning! 🙂
