It’s an overcast, rainy Sunday today, so as I’m sitting curled up with a cup of espresso, I’m daydreaming as I blog about our recent fun-in-the-sun El Nido adventure with family. It’s always a lot of fun going on trips with the people you love the most, and if you’re lucky and enjoy the same activities, then so much the better. Here are a few of the activities and favorite postcard-moments from our trip…hope you enjoy them! 🙂
Kayaking through turquoise lagoons where we spotted a small spotted eagle ray & baby black-tipped shark…
Bird watching! Loved these dramatic black & white hornbills that would often perch in flocks around the pool area…
Hiking up Snake Island with its picturesque, sinewy sandbar that bridged two islands…
Exploring gloriously majestic hidden caves…
…with amazing rock formations
Listening to the sounds of waves & birds from our cottage in the peaceful cove surrounded by limestone cliffs…
Enjoying the super fresh seafood buffet al fresco before going for an evening dip in the lantern-lit pool…
Star gazing–this is the first evening star, perfect for making wishes come true
Heading back…the long coastline and pretty stretch of empty beach where the El Nido airport is situated
Taking off on our ‘Adventures of Tintin’ propeller plane & flying back home
The best thing about family adventures (and misadventures) is that every moment becomes even more memorable and precious because of the people that you’re with. And with 7,107 (more or less) islands to choose from, we’ll never run out of places to explore. Can’t wait for next year’s beach-bonding trip! 🙂
