A look at the journey from inspiration to fashion runway…
Inspired by the lacy wrought-iron grillwork often found in Philippine colonial houses in Vigan, the very first gown I designed (for FDCP’s Philippine Fashion Design Competition, many years back) used copper-wire fashioned into curly-cues as beadwork, along with hundreds of miniscule black hook-and-eyes which allowed the gown to be taken apart and transformed into different styles.
