It’s the middle of the week, in the middle of the month, in (roughly) the middle of the year and so far I’ve been quite happy with the ‘work-life’ balance I seem to have finally stumbled on. Less mindless multi-tasking and useless busy-ness has left me with more time to do the things I really enjoy, like experimenting with designs, doing some writing, working on things at home, traveling with friends, and of course, spending time with family. Keeping my fingers crossed that it lasts a little longer!

Even work has become more pleasant, and I find myself enjoying the process instead of hurrying it along like I used to (I hate the feeling of being rushed! Don’t you??). Now I have more time to develop ideas, play with materials, and attend to the little details (my favorite part), as well as catch up with clients who have become friends (my other favorite part!). The other day I had a fitting for a Filipiniana gown I’m currently working on, and my client was so pleased and we both got so excited–it literally made my day πŸ™‚

So keeping this balance is going to be my life’s perpetual work in progress…
